It was an idea for the premise of a fantasy fiction. Just a lighthearted, sometimes comedic and silly thing with likeable characters that have fun and interact in fun and interesting ways. The world is presented as really colorful and bright, but not too saturated, just pleasant and comfy. This fantastical world is not like ours in a foundational physical sense. The universal laws that govern the world are much simpler, and some things that are impossible for us is mundane therein. The world is small compared to ours, consisting only of some towns and communities here and there. Some concepts that are valid in our world aren’t valid in it, so there are no sidereal bodies and space, and the accessible world just ends at some point. Also, there is an interesting lore idea I had for the creation of this world. - - - The lore is kinda neat, and it’s really simple too: An entity gains consciousness. It doesn’t know where it came from, and it isn’t able to perceive or sense anything external to its consciousness. It starts to ponder about itself as well as about its existence. As it starts to gain some kind of understanding of itself, it starts to try doing things, and have some kind of impact on things that are extrinsic to itself. It isn’t effective at first, but as it keeps trying, it is able to grasp its power more concretely, and ends being able to actually create things. Simple things at first, just random abstract shapes and sounds, colors and beats. It is able to perceive harmony as we know it, and it tries to create things that it feels are harmonic. But the special characteristic of its creations are that they are *extrinsic* to itself. It is able to have an influence on the properties and existence of those things, but at the same time they exist out of its consciousness, and are able to exist by themselves without its interference or attention. As it is able to grow further understanding of its influences over existence, it starts creating things that are more concrete, such as land and water, and it is able to decide on what kinds of things it feels like it likes, and which it feels like it doesn’t like, and shape the world to its liking. At least somewhat, since it isn’t exempt from imperfections, and doesn’t yet have a thorough understanding of what it likes and how to consolidate it. But as it gets more and more invested into the process of creating the world, it starts to feel that there is something missing. It has consciousness, but there is no other consciousness to share the experience with it. This is not a simple conclusion for it to reach, since it has no conception of such ideas. But it is eventually able to conclude that it wants to create other consciousnesses akin to itself to share its world with. It eventually creates *people*. People are consciousnesses such as itself, but they do not have inherent power over the world such as itself. It figures that the best way to have people be able to experience its world is by giving them physical manifestations, their *bodies*. It is able to influence and perceive the consciousnesses of people, but it finds it unjust to do so, and avoids it altogether. It gives people the option to share some of their thoughts with it, but it is an explicit action they must do by their own will. It is able to express its thoughts to people through its natural powers. As the existence of the land and people moves along, it realizes that people interact among themselves, and it decides to give them certain designations, places to live, and as such, organizes the people in its world for their benefit. At some point, it decides that it wants to give itself a physical manifestation so that it can interact with people more concretely. It feels like it wants for people to have a better conception of itself, and it feels like associating a physical entity with itself is important. Of course, it models itself to be similar to people, so that it is able to feel more familiar to them. As it decides on its appearance, it tries to choose features that people will find appeasing and soothing. Its goal is to comfort people, as it wants for them to be happy. By this point, people by themselves have already established the concept of genders (although the social implications thereof are vastly different from ours, given the world’s existence story is itself very different from ours). To people in this world, genders are effectively personality characterizations. People were able to realize that their personalities differed in such a way that allowed for them to classify themselves into two groups, which they called *genders*. The characterization is rough and imperfect, but it generally works reasonably well. Most people don’t need to think about it, as their language does not make use of gender in its grammar, but this rough categorization was a phenomenon that some people were able to observe. - - - The creator entity, in its physical manifestation, is able to interact with people, and is a normal character of the story, abiding to the same kinds of sentiments as people do, and being able to grow specific feelings towards each of them. It has personality quirks just like the other characters, and has neither true omnipotence nor true omniscience. But it has foundational powers over the world, and is able to assign certain special powers to some people as it wishes. - - - Well, first thing, I came up with a name for the creator entity that I think I like! “Mu” is Its name. Throughout the story, the only words that will be capitalized will be “Mu” and “It” when referring to Mu. The idea is that the language of the world uses “Mu” to as both a noun and a pronoun to refer to It, differentiating how It is referred to from how people are referred to. Since “Mu” is not a pronoun in English, it would probably feel quite repetitive to use it frequently, so the word “It” is used capitalized to represent that the world’s language would actually be using “Mu” in its place. I feel like a good name for the work would be “the world of Mu”. I came up with some more lore for the world, such as the weather and day/night cycle, but I don’t think that’s interesting enough to bring up now. But one thing I will mention is that there is no precipitation in the world. I think a good format for it would be make it a “Web visual novel” kind of thing (though I don’t think that this is an actual thing that exists, or at least it’s not popular). Each chapter would be separated into a different webpage, and each would not be too extensive, potentially separating the same arch across chapters. Somewhere between two and four screen heights of text for each chapter would be reasonable, but perhaps more if necessary. The text would be overlaid in some background image that intentionally lacks detail and might be a bit abstract. However, most of it would be either on a flat color (or perhaps gradient) background, or on a generic image that can be reused. The background scroll alongside the text, and certain parts of the text can have different images or colors as the background to reflect their mood or what they are talking about. No characters are ever pictured. What still need to come up with is characters for the story, and some kind of plot. Regarding lore, I’m not sure how old the world should be, and the implications of births and deaths therein. - - - Ah, also, I had one idea for an interesting piece of dialogue. In some situation, there is some kind of limitation of water. One person tells the other to fetch some water “water doesn’t fall from the sky” is their justification. Mu, who is among them, jokingly proposes “I could make that happen, you know?” They all find the idea silly and laugh a bit about it. - - - Mu is going to be a regular character in the story. It’s not meant to be “mysterious” per se. I want to give It silly traits, like being snarky and maybe even insecure. - - - I came up with a character, Bea, and their parents, Laur and Nes. Laur is a lumberjack, and Nes is a woodworker. They work on a wood‐related shop, and expect Bea to follow their footsteps and help continue their career with the shop, but Bea is more artistic, and prefers to express themself with music or drawings, and wants to pursue that.
